The most expensive mistake in a luxury home gym is a piece of equipment that fits the room on paper and not in practice. A rack needs room to step out of a squat, a barbell needs its full length plus loading room at both ends, a treadmill needs a safety zone behind the belt, and a functional trainer needs the full travel of its cables on each side. None of that appears on a product page footprint. This worksheet gives each item on your shortlist a row where you record what the supplier lists, what you must add around it, how much height it needs at the exact spot where it will stand, and what it will actually cost delivered and installed.

Fill in the measurement and price cells from your own quotes and your own tape measure; the placeholders are there to be replaced, not trusted. When every row is complete, the Home Gym Floor Space Planner in our Tools section will turn the totals into a room size, and the priority column tells you what to cut first if the Luxury Home Gym Build Budget Estimator comes back above your range. For help deciding what belongs in the priority-one rows, see our article on what equipment forms the foundation of a serious home gym, and for the free weights versus machines question, the article of the same name.
